From the beginning of my autoethnography I had the intent of creating a perspective of the U.S. from people like me, U.S. Dual/Tri Citizens. This was because I am a U.S. Tri Citizen in America who doesn't entirely feel at home. I therefore wished to look into whether others felt the same way. I managed to interview people about this topic and get some insight. This triggered a further will to look into America as a whole to recognise whether America's history and diversity could link to today's opinion of current or decendants of immigrants.
I learnt a lot and I do not regret researching into my topic choice, however I do admit that I could have looked at certain aspects of my project in more detail. Although this autoethnography was meant to create a foreign perspective, I could have put more depth with specifics about America's immigration variety and what that meant, or suppression in America and what that means today to minorities.
What I truly hope is that those who read this website will learn from both the way America was, and the way it is today when looking at immigration, diversity, and group-suppression. I learnt a lot when connecting perspectives of both America's history and the interviewees' perspectives and in turn, when aware of modern opinions, I am able to further understand this issue.
